Best Natural Skincare Routine for Mature Skin

With so much anti-ageing advice around, looking after your skin can start to feel unnecessarily complicated. One day you need another serum; the next, a longer routine, a stronger ingredient or a promise to turn back time.
At Mollie & Me, we believe skincare should feel like care, not a battle with your age. The best natural skincare routine for mature skin is not necessarily the one with the most steps. It is a manageable routine that helps your skin feel clean, comfortable and nourished, without piling on products it does not need.
Less hype, more listening to your skin
There is nothing wrong with wanting smoother-looking, radiant skin. But the language of “anti-ageing” can make natural changes feel like something we must constantly correct. Fine lines do not mean you have failed at skincare, and a crowded bathroom shelf is not a requirement for looking after yourself.
Mature skin is not one skin type. Yours may feel dry, sensitive, oily in places or different from one week to the next. Rather than following every trend, start with the basics: gentle cleansing, a moisturiser that suits your skin and daily sun protection. A facial oil can be an optional finishing touch when you want extra nourishment.
Step 1: Cleanse gently, without chasing that tight feeling
Cleansing should leave your face feeling fresh, not as though it needs rescuing afterwards. Our Organic Pumpkin & Flaxseed Gel-to-Milk Cleanser starts as an oil-based gel and turns milky when water is added, helping lift away make-up and daily build-up.
Its blend brings together pumpkin seed, flaxseed, meadowfoam, sunflower and avocado oils. These plant oils help soften and condition the skin as part of a nourishing cleanse. Flaxseed oil brings a fatty-acid-rich element to the blend, while meadowfoam and avocado oils contribute to its comfortable, emollient feel. Glycerine helps attract moisture, making this more than a quest for a squeaky-clean finish.
Massage onto dry skin, add water to turn the gel into a milky emulsion, then rinse thoroughly. Keep the touch gentle; vigorous scrubbing is not an extra skincare benefit.
Step 2: Choose one moisturiser with a thoughtful blend
You do not need a separate bottle for every botanical ingredient. Our Bakuchi & Pomegranate Day Cream brings moisturising ingredients, plant oils and extracts together in one everyday step.
Hyaluronic acid and glycerine help attract and retain moisture, supporting a plumper, more hydrated appearance. Aloe vera contributes soothing, hydrating care, while oils including safflower, sunflower, grape seed and jojoba help soften and condition the skin.
Bakuchi oil is one of the botanical ingredients in the formula. It sits alongside pomegranate extract, oat kernel extract and vitamin E in a blend designed to leave skin feeling nourished and looking healthy. Bakuchi oil should not be confused with a standardised bakuchiol treatment or assumed to give the same results as retinol. Here, the emphasis is on a comfortable daily moisturiser, not a dramatic promise.
Apply after cleansing, using enough to leave your skin comfortable rather than heavily coated. Despite its name, the Day Cream can also be used in your evening routine. It does not replace sunscreen.

Step 3: Add a little facial oil, only if your skin wants it
If your skin still feels dry, or you enjoy a nourishing finish in the evening, a few drops of Radiance Facial Oil can complement your moisturiser. This is an optional step, not another rule.
Rosehip oil helps condition the skin and supports a soft, smooth feel. Sea buckthorn oil adds richness to the botanical blend, while safflower and apricot kernel oils help soften dry-feeling skin. Olive-derived squalane contributes a silky, emollient finish, and vitamin E adds antioxidant care.
The role of a facial oil is different from that of a water-based moisturiser. Oils help soften the skin and reduce moisture loss; they do not supply water in the same way. Think of your cream as the moisturising foundation, with oil as an extra finishing layer when needed.
Press 3–4 drops over your moisturiser in the evening, adjusting to how your skin feels. Radiance also contains mandarin and ylang ylang essential oils for its scent. There is no need to add several oils or keep layering until your skin feels saturated.
Prefer your facial oil without added essential oils?
Choose an alternative rather than adding another step. Bare Radiance Facial Oil contains rosehip, sea buckthorn, safflower, squalane, apricot kernel oil and vitamin E, without added essential oils.
It is an option for those who prefer to avoid essential oils in their facial oil. Use Bare Radiance instead of the original Radiance, not on top of it.
A simple morning and evening routine
Morning: cleanse gently as needed, apply your moisturiser, then finish with a separate broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, following its directions. Neither your day cream nor facial oil replaces sun protection.
Evening: cleanse away the day, apply your moisturiser and finish with your chosen facial oil if your skin needs extra nourishment. If your skin feels comfortable with cleanser and cream alone, you can leave it there.
You do not need to do everything
A mask, exfoliant or extra serum does not have to become a daily obligation. When your skin feels unsettled, adding more products can make it harder to work out what suits it. Keep your routine manageable and let your skin's comfort guide you, rather than the latest trend.
For us, the best natural skincare routine for mature skin is not about erasing the years. It is about gentle cleansing, thoughtful moisturising, daily sun protection and a little botanical nourishment when you want it.
Less pressure. Fewer steps. A little moment of care, just for you.
